"Nicole Tran Ba Vang has been showing her "collections" in Paris for the past two years. The artist releases her work in the same way that clothing designers do to emphasize the relationship of couture and torture. Tran Ba Vang's project is not some haphazard, dated surrealism but a technologically savvy and gorgeously sexy take on the feminist discourse surrounding fashion. Through digital intervention, Ms. Tran Ba Vang, simply but effectively, collapses two images of the same female model together, creating both a new body and a sense of fabric as flesh. She lives and works in Paris."
