Thorsten Jankowski

Extremely strong figure work by German Thorsten Jankowski. I frequently refer to this photographer's work when looking for pose references.

Lovec Snov (Dream Catcher)

Amazing work by this Russian photographer. The photos range from elaborately staged tableaux to classic studio nudes. Many of his images also demonstrate a decidedly whimsical sense of humour.

If you like this guy's work as much as I do, you may also want to check out his Photosight.ru portfolio.

Thanks to reader Eugene who helped me out with my Cyrillic and corrected my orginal misreading of this artist's name.

Michael Barnes

I'm very proud to announce that I've finally completed a long overdue overhaul on my personal website.  There's lots of new photos, new features such as a web store, and a completely revamped design.  Come check it out and let me know what you think!

Barry Leighton

Dark and moody male nudes by UK photographer Barry Leighton. His site also features a very old school section with recipes for mixing your own darkroom chemicals that took my right back to using the triple beam balance scale in university.

Daniel Murtagh, photographer

American photographer Daniel Murtagh uses soft natural light to create exquisite beauty shots and nude portraits that to me at least bear comparison to Julia Margaret Cameron. Really exceptional stuff.

Thank you Eric K. for sending in this link.

Emil Schildt

Danish photographer and master of lighting painting, Emil Schilt, has long been one of my personal favourites. I've featured him here several times, but I don't think I've seen his photo.net profile before. It's a nice "one stop" introduction to this influential photographer.

Environmental and studio nudes by Turkish born photographer Niko Guido.

Guido makes me envy European photographers for the incredible locations they have to shoot in!

Figure Photography Magazine

Here's a new site that looks like it has a lot of potential. Philadelphia photographer Craig Rothfuss is putting together a new online magazine that he hopes will be a good resource for photographers who specialize in figure photography. It's a very different beastie than this site though. To quote the email from Craig, his emphasis will be on "...short articles, bits & pieces, cool stuff, new ideas... I'm especially trying to focus on interviews because it seems to me that so many artists work in one sort of isolation or another."

He's also planning on adding an anonymous (but moderated) peer review section for discussion of work.

Free registration is required to see all the content, but it's fast and easy.

I've added this one to the permanent links section under "Photo and Fine Art Sites"
