Nude Daguerreotypes / Erotic Ambrotypes

I've just discovered that the alternate process photographer known as "SweatNapper" is now displaying his nude work on two (new to me) websites.

I love this guy's stuff. The vintage techniques he uses bring an amazing ethereal feeling to the work that is absolutely unique.

Enjoy both of these sites.

Rik Garrett

Wonderfully moody and mysterious alt-process and contemporary art photography by American photographer Rik Garrett.

Patrons take note! Rik's also fund raising for a solo exhibit in the UK. Make a donation at various levels and receive postcards, digital prints and more. There's only about 2 weeks left, and he's 4/5ths of the way there, so hopefully Art Nudes can put him over the finish line.

Emil Schildt

Danish photographer and master of lighting painting, Emil Schilt, has long been one of my personal favourites. I've featured him here several times, but I don't think I've seen his photo.net profile before. It's a nice "one stop" introduction to this influential photographer.

Patrick Rochon

Canadian born photographer Patrick Rochon takes light painting to a whole new level with these spectacular images. The most incredible thing is that all of these are 100% analogue, there is no digital manipulation in post-production.

Of particular interest to the readers of this blog are the Butoh and Experimental galleries.

Ray Bidegain Platinum Photographs

Sublime and masterful platinum and collodion images by American photographer Ray Bidegain. This is the kind of work that really needs to be seen in person to appreciate, but I'll take what I can get!

If you love Ray's work as much as I do, then you'll also want to check out this archive of his nudes hosted on another site.

Ted Preuss Photography

I just visited the website of photographer Ted Preuss. He has a new to me series of platinum/palladium prints called Oasis of Mara, that is well worth visiting for.

jonathan abbou

French photographer Jonathan Abbou riffs on archaic photo styles such as the old "Exotic Orient" photo cards of the late 19th century to create highly textured and successful work.
