Merfeld Photography: Collodion

Wonderful (but too small!) collodion process images by American photographer Ken Merfeld.

Louchelab _ Ned and Aya Rosen

Ned and Aya Rosen are a husband and wife artists from New York. To spend some time exploring their website(s) is to feel as though you know them personally. Your mileage may vary, but I found their sincerity and obvious love for each other totally disarming.

Absolutely stunning images by fashion & beauty photographer Sabine Pigalle. I'm particularly enamored with her "Protectors" series.

How to Take High Dynamic Range Photographs - wikiHow

I've become a bit more interested in HDR lately, and have been doing some preliminary experiments. Here's one of many tutorials available on the web about this. The above is a real quicky sample of my upstairs hallway produced with the "qtpfsgui" software.

This one's $99 but seems to get better results. Free trial with watermarks available.

Fontenoy

Frederic Fontenoy shows us what happens when a really talented photographer and artist turns to creating erotic work. Shot in a different style, by a less skilled photographer, these would be pure porn. However, in Fontenoy's hands these images are transcendent. Bizarre and dark stories are told, layers of perversion are hinted at. Pretty great stuff, although not for all tastes, I guarantee.

WARNING: The images in these galleries are very explicit.

Anton Solomoukha ::: Art | Peinture | Photographie :::

I'm not entirely certain what to think about the work of Anton Solomoukha. He's creating very painterly, allegorical scenes, but how effectively? I could spend a fair amount of time critiquing here, but that's not what I do on this blog. Suffice it to say I felt that it had enough merit to share here, but I welcome others to put in their two cents in the comments.

Here's an old favourite I haven't revisited for a long time. Swiss photographer Philippe Pache creates mysterious moody imagery that I really enjoy.

Here's a very muddy series of outdoor figure studies by Ukrainian photographer Elena Vasilieva (and some non-muddy studio images too.)

Aleksey Marina | Photography

Russian photographer Aleksey Kozlov and designer Marina Khlebnikova create powerful but simple fashion and beauty images. Their work also makes me think I should move to Russia to search for models, as they seem to have an endless supply of 6 foot tall, perfectly proportioned Amazons.
