I'm off to Pasadena, California for a conference for the next few days. I'm taking my laptop, so I'll be in touch via email though. In fact, I may even try my first ever remote blogging, but no promises.

In the meantime, I leave you with the photoblog of Art Nudes reader Delphine Le Berre, whose "painted with light" figures seem to glow from within.

Here's a site with two really wonderful Czech photographers. Vasil Stanko & Rudo Prekop. Stanko does terrific work with dancers using distance and perspective to create really unusual compositions. As for Prekop, while he doesn't use figures in his work, simply makes terrific photos. I particularly love the assemblage still lives in his Zatisi series.

"Robert Flynt has spent the last decade making surreal and sensual photo-montages of the male nude. His figures seem to exist in an ethereal, weightless and sometimes threatening environment. Using an underwater camera, Flynt captures the improvised movements of his swimming dancer-collaborators. Submerged bodies are frozen while performing evocative and hauntingly beautiful choreography."

Allan Teger's photos always make me chuckle. There's lots of new images at his site since I last looked.

OK, here's an experiment. This is Art Nudes first ever web poll. I'm being tempted by a sweet deal on a Nikon D100 so I'm asking you to help me with the question all photographers lately have to face. Vote in the poll and if you wish please feel free to elaborate further in the comments.

Cirenaica Moreira Resume

"Cirenaica Moreira was born in Havana, Cuba in 1969 and graduated from the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA) in Havana with a focus in the performing arts, which is strongly reflected in her tableau-like photographs, with the artist herself playing the lead role. She is considered by many to be one of the most influential Cuban photographers of her generation."
