Patrick Rochon

Canadian born photographer Patrick Rochon takes light painting to a whole new level with these spectacular images. The most incredible thing is that all of these are 100% analogue, there is no digital manipulation in post-production.

Of particular interest to the readers of this blog are the Butoh and Experimental galleries.

Corwin Prescott

Tattooed women and sub-culture styles feature prominently in American photographer Corwin Prescott's work, but his work spans well beyond those lines. He gets bonus points for some very strong portraiture too.

Thierry Mechain

Art Nudes reader Thierry Mechain wrote in to let us know that his first book, a collection of photographs of his wife, is now available on Blurb, where you can preview the 15 pages.

Mariana's Flickr Safari

Once again, Art Nudes' associate editor Mariana Pinheiro has braved the forsaken hinterlands of Flickr, to cull through the dross and come up with some gems. Thank you Mariana, you're a braver and more patient person than I, that's why we love you!

For those of you that don't know, Mariana is a long time contributor of links to this site. She has one of the most remarkable eclectic minds I've ever encountered and also runs the wonderful Gatochy's Blog. Check it out!

So, without further ado, here are the results of Mariana's Flickr Safari

Here's a small selection of work by American photographer Dido Fontana in what I've come to think of as the "Contemporary Decadent" style.

A Photographers' Guide to Section 2257

American photographers need to be aware that this week the new Section 2257 statute comes into effect. I'm grateful that as a Canadian I'm not subject to these rules, (as long as I don't want to publish or exhibit work in the United States... Doh!) because they look frightening and hard to comprehend. Luckily for my friends south of the border, photographer, longtime Art Nudes reader, and self professed "recovering lawyer", Stephen Haynes has written a book that promises to help. I don't want any of my fellow photographers ending up in the slammer, so perhaps if you live in the United States, you should consider purchasing this.

From the description:

Effective March 18, 2009, Section 2257 expands via a new statute, §2257A, to encompass simulated activity and the entirely new “lascivious exhibition of genitals or the pubic area.” A Photographer’s Guide to Section 2257 provides analysis of §2257, its statutes, and the regulations. Topics covered include: 1. What photographic subjects are covered and why; 2. What the law requires; 3. What records must be kept, and how; 4. What labels must be placed on photographs, how and when; 5. How photographers may expect to be inspected by federal authorities; 6. What the “Safe Harbor” certification is and how it may be acquired.

Diana Scheunemann

German born photographer Diana Scheunemann is known for her advertising and editorial work and her celebrity portraits. However, whenever I feature a successful commercial photographer, I'm always drawn to the "personal work" section of their websites. I love to see where they go once the demands of the client are out of the equation and they are just doing photography for its own sake. In Scheunemann's case, much of the personal work is clearly "photos of opportunity", many probably taken with a compact camera. This provides them with an intimacy and spontaneity that's really engaging.

Ms. Scheunemann is also a regular reader of this blog, proving once again what a cool, talented readership hangs out here!

Melina Balbuena Actriz - Modelo de Fotgrafos

When I look at my visitor info, I'm always humbled when I see that people from literally everywhere visit this site. I try to keep my photographic coverage international but I don't believe I've ever done a model profile for a country outside the US or UK. So, for my Argentinian readers, here's an art model for you. Actress and model Melina Balbuena.

Have a favourite model who has their own website? Let me know and maybe I feature them here. No Model Mayhem, OneModelPlace portfolios or Flickr pages please.
