I want to end today's posting with a big congratulations to the Fine Nudes blog. This month marks the one year anniversary of the site, and I think I can safely say that I can appreciate better than most just how much dedication and hard work goes into reaching a milestone like that. Congratulations Fine Nudes!

Art Nudes Reader and professional photographer Ricardo Alberto Leiva was one of the many of you who wrote in with a nice letter of support regarding the recent blogging headaches. Although there isn't a lot of figure work in portfolio, I couldn't resist posting it, especially when I discovered he's living in my home province of British Columbia.

Status Update

Status Update

I am still getting scattered reports of people not being able to get to the blog. Whether this is a result of false redirects, firewalls blocking people due to the new warning page, or even broader national level censorship issues, I don't know. I do know that traffic is still down significantly for this site and consequently for the sites I link to. I don't want to complain too much, because I'm still getting a pretty enviable visitation, but damn it, I hate the fact that readers that want to, can't access this site!

I'm very grateful for you loyal readers that have stuck with me through the recent glitches. I'd like to let you know that I am exploring alternatives, but I have a few unanswered questions I need to resolve first. Specifically, if I port this site to another non "blogspot" domain name but still use blogger as my client, will it still force the warning page on me? If that is true, then I still have a couple other options.

Please bear with me and please write me with reports of any difficulties you have accessing the site.

Thank you.

Carrie Leigh's NUDE MAGAZINE

Photographer and long time reader Dave Rudin wrote in to tell me about a brand new magazine that has just his the shelves for the first time. The premier issue has an 8 page feature on Dave's work. Way to go Dave!

The magazine looks like it features quality work and interesting articles. I wish it every success, and I hope I can find it in my local shops. If any one wants to buy me an early X-mas present, I'll take a year's subscription!

Even more importantly though, the magazine has an open call for submissions via their website. We all know that print exposure can be hard to come by, so this is an excellent opportunity.

As regular readers know, I don't generally post sites with subscription content, but with no less than 30 galleries, there's more free content on Russian photographer Igor Amelkovich's pay-site, than most regular sites I link to.

Vancouver (via South Africa) photographer Trevor Brady's series "At Home" is a great series featuring people naked where they are most comfortable, in their domestic environment. I also recommend you explore the rest of this photographer's site, there's an incredibly diverse bunch of high quality work here.

Thai Phien is perhaps the first Vietnamese photographer I've ever posted here. I guess it's a combination of language barrier and cultural differences, but I don't see a lot of galleries by South Asian photographers. If any one knows of any others, I'd be very interested to see the links.

Kat Love . Artistic Nude Model

Kat Love is one of the most prolific figure models working right now. If you look at as many photographers websites as I do, you'd see her popping up again and again in portfolios from all over the world.

Anyway, she sent me a note this morning announcing she has relocated to New York city to pursue her Masters degree in philosophy, so it seemed like a terrific opportunity to post a link to her superb website.

Andrew Kaiser's portfolio is a mix of studio and environmental nudes. I particularly like that much of his work reads more as portraits rather than figure studies.

Art Now

I hope you will all forgive a little shameless self-promotion, but I have just been interviewed by Giselle Borzov of the Art Now blog regarding my thoughts on fine art nude photography, blogging and censorship. If you are interested in my thoughts on any of the topics, please read the article. If you aren't, please still visit Giselle's blog, it's very young but it looks like it will have great potential.

French photographer & Art Nudes Reader Nicolas Taillard wrote in to show me a few of his photographs. I was so impressed, I'm posting these even though he doesn't have a web page for me to link to. I just love how he's broken out of the two dimensional boundaries of the photographs. Wonderfully creative work!

My friend Ron Chez is coming to town next weekend, and I'm really looking forward to getting together over a pint of beer and talking photography with him. Check out his portfolio for some truly great environmental nudes.

Problem solved??

Problem Solved?? UPDATE #2

I reported the Google index problem, and through their "webmaster tools" managed to initiate a Google scan of the blog, and Voila! the search results are back to how they used to be. Whether it was really my actions, or something else, it seems that at least the hacker issue MAY have been resolved.

I will keep a close eye on the traffic stats over the next several days and keep you posted. In the meantime, please report any problems accessing the site, performing searches for the site, or any other strange glitches that may occur.

I'll delete the post below about the hacking issue, to avoid confusion and clutter, and archive a copy of it in the comments for reference.

Once again, thanks to all of you for the overwhelming emails and comments. Please forgive me if I don't respond right away. I'm trying hard to keep up with this chaos. I'd especially like to thank Lin & Richard at Fluffytek, for this very kind post.

Delisted by Google

DELISTED BY GOOGLE

Well as of this past Monday, due to this blog being reported as containing "Objectionable Content", I have been delisted by Google.

Up until this point, a google search for "Art Nudes" would result in this blog being the number one search result. In fact, even a search for "nudes" would put this blog at about number 3 or 4. As you can imagine this resulted in hundreds of thousands of visitors finding this site. Many of those readers were the same ones that became regulars and are now reading this post. Unfortunately, now that I'm persona non-grata, a google search for this blog results (bizarrely) in a genuinely offensive site filled with obscene photoshopped pics of a Kurdish politician. Likewise, with a search for "nudes", this blog is nowhere to be found. Over the past week, my daily traffic has plummeted from around 5,000 to only about 2,000. This is a huge blow. For five years, I have been doing this for the love of photography and for the sake of promoting my own and other photographers work. To have that snatched away without warning or opportunity for appeal is really discouraging.

I may stick it out, I may start a new blog, I may just concentrate on my own photography. I welcome suggestions and comments from you readers, but I have to tell you, in light of this recent development, I'm seriously considering calling it quits.

Best regards,

Michael B
