Damon wrote to recommend this link to the work of Russian photographer Alexander Shakhabalov. All the text is in Russian, but the pictures speak for themselves. There are a total of nine galleries with dozens of images in each. The work is generally good, although several are strongly remincesent of David Hamilton. In my books, this isn't necessarily a good thing...
**UPDATE** Damon wrote to ask me to elaborate a bit on my statement above. My problems with Hamilton aren't so much with the age of his models, as with his cheesy soft focus, Penthouse style eroticism. I quite like Jock Sturges and Sally Mann, both of whom have been criticised for use of young models, the difference with them is that they aren't overtly sexualizing their subjects. David Hamilton may be a good photographer, but his style is severely dated and the philosophy behind his work is suspect at best. It's actually unfair of me to compare Alexander Shakhabalov to Hamilton, I like Shakhabalov's work much better.
Alexander Shakhabalov
Thanks for the link Damon!
