Eric Kellerman Photography

I got a note from Eric Kellerman today letting me know that he's done a bit of house cleaning on his website, deleting some older stuff and adding new.

One day I'll follow his example and update my own sadly out of date site...

Helmut Newton

Famed photographer Helmut Newton has died.

Love him of hate him, there's no denying Helmut Newton's influence on contemporary photography. Here is a page of Newton links that I discovered at Indie Nudes.

Here's the news article.
"LOS ANGELES - Legendary international glamour and fashion photographer Helmut Newton has been killed in a car crash in Hollywood.

Mr Newton, 83, was leaving the Chateau Marmont when he lost control of his Cadillac limousine and ploughed into a wall nearby.

The deadly crash on Hollywood's famed Sunset Boulevard on Friday brought to an end a spectacular career that made him famous across the globe.

Mr Newton was best known for his fashion and nude photography and for his work in top magazines such as French Vogue. Among the beautiful and powerful people he photographed were Paloma Picasso, Pierre Cardin, Naomi Campbell, Jean-Marie Le Pen and Claudia Schiffer.

Born in Berlin in 1920 to a well-to-do button manufacturer, he was enrolled in the American School in the German capital but was expelled because he daydreamed of photography instead of focusing on his schoolwork.

After leaving school in 1936, the young Helmut worked as an apprentice to top photographer Elsie Simon, known as Yva, a job he held until he was forced to flee after the start of Adolf Hitler's vicious pogroms against German Jews two years later.

His parents managed to secure him passage on a ship to China but he stopped off in Singapore, where he got a job at The Straits Times, a job he held for just two weeks.

He moved to Australia in 1940, just ahead of the Japanese invasion.

After briefly being interned as a German citizen, he joined the Australian army and in 1948 married actress June Brunell. They have been together for more than 50 years. -- AFP, AP "

Edwynn Houk Gallery

Nude, 1940's

It's always good to go back to the classics, here's a few small galleries of the work of master photographer, Bill Brant. It's interesting to see just how early he developed his signature look of exaggerated perspectives along model's limbs.

Thanks to Franco in Rome for this link!

Click on the dates along the bottom left of the page for further galleries.

Nad Iksodas's Photography

Here's another great webpage from one of the talented photographer's who regularly visit Art Nudes. This time it's "Nad Iksodas" (Hint: think mirrors) who wrote and pointed me to his site. I've seen his work in various web forums before, but I'd never seen his homepage. Thanks for the link Nad!

Also today, Antonio offers up the mysterious Horak for our viewing pleasure. I could find out nothing about this photographer from his web page, but he does some good fashion/glamour style black and white photography.

If anyone can give me a first name, etc. for this photographer I'd be happy to post it.

**UPDATE: Thanks to Michael Morris who wrote to let me know the first name of this photographer, (it's Jan) and that he is from Bratislava, Slovakia.

Voila!-Vintage Erotic ·  Íîìå

This is kind of cool. Not only does Vintage Lovelies have an extensive collection of vintage erotica (and pornography) but you can may your own e-postcards out of any of them. This one is definitely going in my bookmarks.

Olivia Gay - Photographer

Regular contributor Antonio, starts the new year off right with this link to French photographer Olivia Gay. Her work bridges the space between fine art and photo journalism. Among other things, her portfolios contain some truly remarkable glimpses into the private lives of sex trade workers in South America & Cuba.
