Leonard Nimoy (yes, THAT Leonard Nemoy) uses classic art and religious themes as his inspiration. His Shekhina series which uses nude models to depict the Hebrew goddess figure, generated considerable controversy for its use of objects sacred to Judaism.

Voyeur

An online version of the photo book Voyeur brings together a collection of photographs that explore our obsession with sneaking a peak, or outright staring.

"Many of the photographs gathered here examine the play between voyeur and object of desire. Happily, few see it in the same light. There are at least as many shades to the subject as there are photographers in this exhibition. Never has a medium been more perfectly wedded to its subject than the camera is to voyeurism."

Misha Gordin

Mischa Gordin's nightmare inducing photographs would be stunning if they were produced digitally. However, the fact that all her work is created using a traditional darkroom techniques elevates it into realm of the incredible.

Photographie Noir et Blanc - Alexandre MALLER

Alexandre Maller's photos have a simple, honest look to them that I find appealing.

The indefatigable Antonio brings us this link to Russian photographer Vadim Rigin. Although you have to sort through a good deal of traditional glamour photography, there are some gems hidden in the 12 galleries of "erotic" photographs.

fine art nude photography by Ian Scrivener

OK, that's enough about my personal life and friends. Here's some nice work by Austrailian photographer Ian Scrivener.

Hey, speaking of new baby's, let me introduce mine! I took my own advice and went on down to proud Papa Andrew's store and did my part towards his diaper bills. Yep, I've officially moved up to medium format with an old but sweet Pentax 645. Early Christmas for me.

Camera Traders - Used Cameras & Equipment

Congratulations to Sarah & Andrew on the birth of their second son! Born this Monday morning and tentatively named Jasper.

Sarah is one of my favourite models and dearest friends (that's her above). Her husband Andrew, is also a good friend and owner of a great camera store. He's got an excellent online inventory, and now he's got two sons to feed, so go to his website and buy that Leica you've been wanting.

e c c e n t r i s :::: Haute Future :::: Photography by SACHA DEAN BIYAN

Antonio wrote to tell me that he'd been completely blown away by Eccentris, photographer Sacha Dean Biyan's ultra stylish showcase of his fashion and beauty photography. Although I don't generally feature fashion photographers on this blog, Eccentris is a tour de force of high style and cutting edge flash web design. It has more credits than some movies I've watched! Check it out.

#6700098 :: photography :: eng.ver

From: "You're Looking For Life"
Takaci Hirano

Takaci Hirano's strangely beautiful photographs are the exact opposite of Nobuyoshi Araki's. Rather than objectifying the feminine, his photos are love poems to his geeky but adorable art student girlfriends. He obsessively documents their every activity from the most mundane to the most intimate, and the results are extraordinary. I don't know what it is about this site but I had to view nearly ever image in each of the fairly large portfolios. Mesmerizing.

Pascal Baetens

"After a classic, intellectual education, Pascal Baetens chose to develop his artistic creativity and became a photographer. He has been realising portrait, glamour, fashion and travel assignments for editorial, commercial and private clients. His collection of subtle black & white nudes lead to the books 'The fragile touch' and 'Allegro sensibile' and numerous publications and exhibitions throughout Europe. "

The Massive Dev Chart: B/W Film Development Times, Processing Data

The Massive Development Chart is an invaluable resource for black & white users who do their own processing. This online tool allows you to cross reference any film against any developer to determine the correct processing time. Let's say you've got a roll of Ilford SP816T police surveillance film and a fresh batch of Amaloco AM74 developer. This would be the place to find out that it would take 8 minutes to process your film at the standard 20 degrees. True darkroom geek heaven.

Plus there's tons of extra information about push processing, discontinued films, you name it. Bookmark this one.

SexyCrazyHollywood | Travelling Photography Exhibit

Here's a group exhibit entitled, CRAZY SEXY HOLLYWOOD.

"The show brings together six of Los Angeles' finest contemporary photographers in a collection curated by Carlos (Batts) himself. Patrick Hoelck, Estevan Oriol, Rick Castro, Dave Naz, Steve Diet Goedde and Batts present a total of fifty works that pay tribute to the looks, attitudes, glamour and grittiness that make Hollywood what it is. Hardly a photojournalistic journey, CRAZY SEXY HOLLYWOOD looks beyond the landmarks and celebrities, to the patchwork of souls, personas and styles that make this unique city what it is."

Images and Ideas - The Ryerson Kodak Lecture Series

Time for a little deep thought here at Art Nudes. A friend sent me this link to the Ryerson Kodak Lecture Series and I thought I'd share.

"Materials from more than 100 presentations from the archive of the Kodak
Lecture Series held in the collections of the Mira Godard Study Centre
were digitized to create a multimedia Web site with images, text and
audio clips. The Web site includes biographical information, images of
the artists and their work, interviews and excerpts from the
presentations. A database allows the user to search the presentations
according to speaker, practice, keyword, and year of the lecture."
